The best foundation any horse can
have and the one he will remember!
With over 30 years of professional horse training
experience David Skipworth has designed and developed the "Soft Hand
Training Program" when he was invited to work with the Bureau of
Land Managementwild mustangs. David worked with an average of
60 wild horses per year during a five year stay in Colorado. David’s training program has been
approved by the U.S. Department of Interior. During this time David developed
the most humane and gentle way of training horses in the world today.
While studying the horse in the
wild David began to learn their natural instinctual behavior and how the horses
communicate to each other. Introducing this natural technique into his training program proved to be the foundation that every
horse should have. David actually talks to the horses in their language
with vocal and sign language for a much faster response from the horse creating a trusting bond between man
and horse. Throughout the years Skipworth has proven that this
program works on every breed of horse including zebra's. See
Zebra article.
Skipworth has performed
training seminars throughout the United States educating horse owners on a much
better and easier way to work with their horses. He has spent much of his life
trying to educate people about the horse. He is not about making money from
horse people by selling junk that doesn't work, but rather he is about helping
the horse to have a better life. There is absolutely no better foundation for any horse, no
matter what discipline they move into and no matter who else does it.
"He’s not just a Horse Whisperer, he
actually talks to the horse in their language." Some call him "The
Doctor DooLittle" of horses, while others say he is a horse psychologist.
Many say he is a great farrier and there are those who accuse him of being a
nutrition fanatic. The truth is – he is all the above.
David has also been a licensed
trainer in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. David was a for-runner of many round
pen techniques seen today and has perfected many not yet seen. David is now the
for-runner in communication with the horse by using the horses own language
which makes training easier on the horse. David is not a "Johnny come
lately" trainer that does it part time, he does in full time – year
around. His program also works with the owner or rider building a better
relationship and understanding for that happier and safer marriage between horse
and man.
If he can do this with a wild zebra, just
think what he can do with your horse!
It is mandatory for the owner or rider of the
horse or zebra to spend at least one or two days with David in order for him to show the
person how to work with the newly trained horse or zebra. David can build a Ferrari of a
animal, but if the rider does not know how to shift the gears and drive it, it's
not much use.
