Do campers get their very own horse for the week?
Yes for Beginner and Intermediate Camp. Each camper is assigned their
own horse for the week based on the camper's height, weight, experience and
ability. Occasionally, our staff is required to make changes based on
suitability and safety for the rider. Advanced Camp is designed for riders to
experience riding different horses.
When does camp start and end?
Each week camp starts on Monday at 8:00 AM and ends on Friday. Pick
up time is from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Check-In Times
Stay Camp is a five day camp, however campers may arrive early on Sunday
no earlier than 5:00 PM and late departure on the following Saturday by 10:00 AM
for an additional charge and for "OFF: No Week-End Stay" week ends.
Please call the camp office for earlier or later times available for "On:
Week-End Stay" week-ends. Early arrival charge is $35.00 and late
departure charge is $35.00. Please check the schedule for "On" and
"Off" week-end dates.
How do I get to Forest Hill Farms? Forest Hill Farms located on Hwy. 22, 2 miles west of Fairport, Iowa,
4.8 miles east of Muscatine, Iowa and 30 miles from the Quad Cities, just 20
minutes from the I-280 bridge.
What if I want to stay for more than one week? Campers may stay for more than one week. Campers that stay for more than
one week may stay over the weekend(s) and will be supervised by a counselor.
There will be plenty of fun things to do over the weekend. There will be a place
to do any laundry. There is an additional charge of $180.00 per week
end and can be paid during registration. A $100 deposit is required per
each week reserved.
Can I bunk and partner with my friend?
Sure! The only time you may not be with your friend is for riding
lessons.
What are the ages?
From 10 and up for Day and Stay Camp and 10 to 17 years for Cowboy Camp.
Spending Money Spending money will be required for week-end stays, early arrivals and
late departures for eating out. Stay Campers may want to bring change for the
soda machine (.75 per pop). We will provide drinks other than pop.
Camp Telephone
The camp telephone is a business phone and is used as such. Campers
cannot use the telephone except in cases of emergency. We do encourage parents
to call if a problem arises, such as homesickness, be it child or parent. We
recommend you bringing a pre-paid phone card for calling home.
Can I Bring My Own Horse?
Yes. Board for the week includes box stall and hay. Please bring your
own hay, grain and buckets. Current Coggins and Health Papers are required.
You are welcome and encouraged to bring your tack as well. There is an extra
charge of $75.00 per horse per week. Horses may arrive on Sunday and leave on
Saturday.
Camper Mail, Packages and Email
Mail and packages can be sent to the summer camp address. NOTE: Please
do NOT use e-mail to contact campers during the week. There is no
out-going mail.
Method of Payment
You may pay for camp by check or cash. All payments to be made to "Forest Hill Farms." All deposits must be
made by check. All returned checks will be charged $30 penaly.
Reservation and Registration "Application for Enrollment" (page 1 of Registration Forms
Packet) must be submitted with deposit to reserve dates desired. You may
call for available dates and we will hold your date for one week. The remaining
forms can be submitted at a later time by mail. You may bring the medical form
when you arrive. Submitting an application does not guarantee your place
in camp.
Waiting Lists
Applications are accepted until each session is filled. When a session
is filled, a waiting list is begun for that session. Campers are assigned a
number based on the date of the application with the required deposit. Waiting
list campers are notified as places become available. If a camper is put on the
waiting list and no place opens up, the entire deposit is refunded.
Health Insurance
Each camper’s health history is required prior to a child entering
camp. Health information including a physician’s physical exam is needed to
complete the health form. We also require that the camper’s family health
insurance provide primary coverage for accidents, illness, and health
emergencies requiring doctor, dentist, hospital, and/or clinic care. When a
camper’s application packet is sent, a health form is included. This form must
be completed and returned to the camp office prior to the first day of camp, you
may bring this form with you when you come.
Refund Policy Registrations may be canceled 4 weeks prior to the first day of camp
season for full refund. Refunds for cancellation after this date may be granted
for medical reasons (Doctor's certificate required) at the discretion of the
director. The refund will be subject to a 10% administration fee. No refunds
will apply for students sent home for misconduct. The camp director reserves the
right to dismiss any camper who in his/her opinion is a hazard to the safety and
rights of others or who has rejected the rules of the camp. No discount of fees
will be offered for any reason for registrants arriving late or leaving early
during the period for which they are registered. Registration deposit is
not refundable.
Camp Week Cancellation
One week to ten days prior to a given camp week, a decision will be made by the
camp directors to run or cancel that week based on the number of individuals who
have enrolled and paid. We reserve the right to cancel a camp week due to
insufficient enrollment. All fees paid will be refunded.

We are uninsured and unequipped to teach students that are physically,
emotionally or mentally challenged, and regret that we are unable to accept
registrations for such students.
